One of my nieces is a really amazing soccer keeper and aspires to be the next Hope Solo. I was trying to come up with an idea for something I could make her with HTV, like a soccer bag or something. It’s a little hard because she’s fifteen, so crazy aunt homemade gifts are not exactly #1 on her wishlist. I finally decided on a shirt that I hoped would show her how awesome I think she is. I decided to make it say, “I am the Hope of the future” (get it, the Hope Solo of the future…) My husband thinks she’ll never wear it, and he’s probably right, but maybe she’ll at least wear it as pjs. It made my sister cry when she saw it, so at least someone liked it.
I made this with my Silhouette Portrait, which I absolutely love, and used Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) from Expressions Vinyl. HTV is such a great way to make DIY shirts because it holds up so well and looks so slick and professional.
